Greensfelder Expands Chicago Law Office &
National Franchise Practice with Attorneys Baer & Krakus

John R.F. Baer and Beata Krakus have joined the Chicago office of law firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale P.C. Mr. Baer and Ms. Krakus expand the Firm’s extensive capabilities in franchise and distribution law and in general corporate representation.

Mr. Baer has a broad transactions practice with extensive experience representing companies engaged in franchising and distribution, including the use of sales representatives, both domestically and internationally. His practice covers a wide range of other related areas, including commercial, sales, warranties, product safety and regulatory matters. Mr. Baer has spoken and written extensively on both domestic and international franchise issues. Prior to joining Greensfelder, Mr. Baer was a partner in Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal’s Chicago office. The American Bar Association Forum on Franchising recently selected Mr. Baer as its first recipient of the prestigious Lewis G. Rudnick Award.

Ms. Krakus also formerly with Sonnenschein, works with clients in domestic and international franchise transactional matters, as well as related areas such as distribution and sales representative arrangements and other commercial contracts. She has advised, structured and prepared franchise programs for many different franchise concepts including real estate brokerages, hotels, restaurants and fitness and personal health systems. Ms. Krakus has prepared domestic and international franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, area development agreements, master franchise agreements, distribution agreements, supply agreements and similar documents. She assists clients with state franchise registrations and counsels clients on federal and state franchise law compliance. She has also assisted clients with mergers and acquisitions, both involving franchise concepts and other business models.
